Pelvic Health Physical Therapist:
We are a growing cash-based practice focused on pelvic health, chronic pain, pregnancy/postpartum care, and whole-body treatment. We offer:

We are ideally looking for someone with Herman & Wallace Pelvic Floor Level 1 & 2 (or equivalent coursework), along with pelvic health, orthopedic, and manual therapy experience; however, motivated clinicians who align with our values and standards, are passionate about pelvic health and eager to continue learning are encouraged to apply. New graduates are welcome.

Full time expected salary range is $80,000-$110,000.

Client Care Coordinator:
Do you excel in communication and making people feel comfortable? Functional Physical Therapy is a physical therapist owned, pelvic floor specialty practice seeking a friendly, enthusiastic and motivated candidate to work seamlessly with the team and patients in the role of Client Care Coordinator.
This is not a typical administrative position - this is an opportunity to develop relationships, impact the wellbeing of clients and work in a fun and supportive environment with the opportunity to grow professionally. The Client Care Coordinator is the friendly face that welcomes clients to the practice, and plays a vital role in our client’s care and optimal clinic function.
The position involves effectively interacting with patients and therapists in the clinic, answering phone calls, managing fax and emails, scheduling clients, following up with necessary documents with various providers, and maintaining office organization and presentation. Awareness of pelvic floor therapy is helpful; however, we are willing to train the right individual.
Please note that this position is in office. We look forward to adding another empathetic, fun, detail-oriented person to our team!
Candidate should have strong skills in the following:
- Self-starter that excels in project and time management, including clinic operations, schedule management and client communications.
- Dependable, punctual and reliable team member.
- Problem-solver, flexible and works well in dynamic environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High School Diploma or higher.
- Minimum 1 year customer service experience.
- Able to navigate multiple computer applications simultaneously.
- Commitment to creating an ideal customer service experience and ability to professionally communicate at all times.
- Able to take patient information, fax, manage email communications and feel comfortable on the phone.
- Driven to learn and communicate about pelvic floor therapy and the various diagnoses that are served.

Dr. Gabriela A. Van Sickle
PT, DPT, CFMT, WCS
Gabriela completed an accelerated program at Simmons College in Boston, MA. She received a BS in Exercise Science with a minor in psychology and earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy with Distinction in 2013. After graduation, Gabriela moved to Richmond, VA, where she completed a two-year residency program through the Institute of Physical Art. In 2015, she sat for the rigorous Functional Manual Therapy ® certification exam, passing with honors. After completing CFMT, Gabriela began taking pelvic floor classes through Herman and Wallace and expanded her treatment to male and female patients with pelvic pain, pain with sexual intercourse, colorectal dysfunction, post-partum, and urinary and fecal incontinence. In 2018, Gabriela passed the rigorous pelvic health certification exam through the American Physical Therapy Association.
In 2017, Gabriela and her husband, Matthew Van Sickle, opened Functional Physical Therapy, LLC, to provide one-on-one, individualized care for those with musculoskeletal, neurological, and pelvic floor disorders. Together, Matthew and Gabriela apply their advanced knowledge and techniques to specialize in treating patients with complex conditions who have not recovered with traditional treatment or physical therapy.

Dr. Matthew J. Van Sickle
PT, DPT, CFMT, PRPC
Matthew received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore, in 2010. Matthew has experience helping patients in many settings, including hospital outpatient, outpatient orthopedics, pediatric orthopedics, and sports-specific rehabilitation. Matthew's interest in manual therapy led him to take classes through the Institute of Physical Art, where he passed the rigorous Functional Manual Therapy® exam in 2016. Matthew is also board certified in pelvic health, specifically for men, and is one of few male physical therapists that treat this underserved population. Recognizing the importance of continuing education, Matthew is constantly looking for new, innovative ways to help patients recover more efficiently. He is currently completing Visceral manipulation and Neural manipulation courses and certification through the Barral Institute.
In 2017, Matthew and his wife, Gabriela Van Sickle, opened Functional Physical Therapy, LLC in Rockville, Maryland, to provide one-on-one, individualized care for those with musculoskeletal, neurological, visceral, and pelvic floor disorders.
